Places to Visit in Prayagraj

Triveni Sangam

The sacred confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati. Take a rowing boat to the exact Sangam point (₹200–400). The visual distinction — blue-green Yamuna meeting brown Ganga — is extraordinary. Bathing here is considered supremely purifying.

Allahabad Fort (1583)

Akbar's massive fort at the Sangam point — one of the largest Mughal forts. The underground Patalpuri Temple and Akshaya Vata (immortal banyan tree) inside are sacred. Partially army-controlled — check civilian entry permissions before visiting.

Anand Bhavan

Ancestral home of the Nehru-Gandhi family — now a national museum. Jawaharlal Nehru was born here. Original furniture, personal belongings and independence-era photographs preserved. Guided tours available. Entry ₹70.

Khusro Bagh

A walled Mughal garden (1606–1622) with magnificent tombs of Prince Khusro, his mother and sister. Extraordinary Mughal architecture entirely off the tourist circuit — peaceful, unvisited, beautifully maintained.
