Manali is beautiful year-round but the best time depends on your purpose. For snow lovers: December to February — snowfall is heavy, Rohtang Pass may be closed but Solang Valley has skiing. For outdoor adventure (trekking, rafting): May to June and September to October — weather is pleasant, roads are clear. For Rohtang Pass and Lahaul-Spiti: June to October when the pass is open. Monsoon (July-August) brings heavy rains and landslide risk. EZPZ Taxi offers Manali trips all year round — call +91-9871121217.

Manali can be visited year-round — each season offers a completely different experience. Here's a month-by-month breakdown:

Month-by-Month Guide

MonthTempConditionsBest For
Jan–Feb-5 to 10°CHeavy snowSnow experience, Rohtang closed
March0–15°CSnow meltingOff-season, quiet, cold
April–May10–20°CRohtang opens (May)Trekking starts, less crowded
June15–25°CPeak seasonBest weather, all roads open
July–August15–22°CMonsoon rainsAvoid — landslide risk
September12–22°CPost-monsoon clarityBest photography, fewer crowds
October5–18°CRohtang closes (Oct)Good weather, colours changing
November–Dec-2 to 10°CSnow beginsEarly snow, off-season

Best Overall: June and September

  • June: Best weather, Rohtang Pass open, Solang Valley green, rivers full, all trekking routes open
  • September: Post-monsoon clarity, Himalayan views crystal clear, fewer tourists than June

For Snow: January–February

If you want snowfall in Manali town, come January–February. The town gets 1–2 feet of snow. Rohtang is closed but Solang Valley has a ski slope.

Avoid July–August

The Manali–Leh highway and Rohtang Pass area see dangerous landslides July–August. Beas River floods. Not recommended unless you have experience with mountain monsoons.
